Dim Sim traces back to Tang Dynasty China (618–907 AD), where royal chefs crafted bite-sized delicacies that later became a Yum Cha staple in Cantonese teahouses. Steaming method was the secret—keeping dumplings juicy, fragrant, and nutrient-rich, a tradition that has lasted over 2,000 years. As Chinese migrants traveled, Dim Sim evolved, taking on new shapes and flavors across Asia and Australia.
